Rascal Flatts Opening in Charlotte

I went to Rascal Flatts 2011 tour, called Flatts Fest, twice this summer.. Went to Flatts Fest in Atlanta on July 28th and Flatts Fest in Charlotte on July 29th.. To go to Atlanta it is about 3 and 1/2 or 4 hour from where I live, so we (my dad and my little sister) made it a day long trip to go down to Atlanta and back.. Long day and we were all worn out when we finally got back home at around 3:30AM.. But it was oh so worth it.. So here is my recaps from the two shows, Atlanta and Charlotte..

Meet and Greet Atlanta 2011

Atlanta:

We arrived at the Aarons Amphitheater at Lakewood around 5 PM, just about the time the gates where about to open.. I needed to be there a little early so I could make sure I got to the band VIP will call booth to pick up my meet and greet pass so I could meet Rascal Flatts before the show..

Once we got into the venue, I was very impressed.. Was a very nice and extremely large amphitheater, much larger than any of the others I have been too in the past.. The pre-show festivities (hence the name Flatts FEST) they had were very cool and everybody definitely needs to check them out and take part in them if you are going to Flatts Fest this year.. They had a karaoke contest, a scavenger hunt, some of Rascal Flatts outfits they’ve worn in the past on display, along with many other things.

At 7PM Justin Moore started things off and did a 6 or 7 song set list, about 20 minutes worth.. He was good, although I only got to see him do two songs before I had to go backstage for my meet and greet with Rascal Flatts.

This was the second time I have been blessed enough to get to meet the guys, and they are very cool and very nice, and I hope I get many more chances to meet the in the future! I also missed the entire Easton Corbin show for being at my meet and greet..

I did make it back to my seat before Sara Evans performed, and Im extremely happy I did.. Sara Evans was incredible!! Amazing voice, knows how to work the stage and just gave an overall A++ performance.. She did probably 10 songs or so and played about 45 minutes.. No to mention that she is just absolutely gorgeous!!

Rascal Flatts in Atlanta

Then finally it was time for Rascal Flatts.. Around 9:20 the house lights went dark, the crowd went crazy, and the show had begun.. Rascal Flatts entrance was totally amazing.. And the drums they did right when they first came out was very cool.. Rascal Flatts played a very upbeat, very enthusiastic and just overall incredible “party”. Some of the songs on their set list were: Why Wait, My and My Gang, Summer Nights, Bless The Broken Road, Stand, My Wish, Fast Cars and Freedom, Red Camaro, Life Is A Highway, Take Me There, Bob That Head and I Wont Let Go..

Overall as I said before, it was an amazing show in Atlanta and it was very well worth the 4 hour drive down, trying as best we could to keep the heat from killing us and then the 4 hour drive back home…

Charlotte:

The Charlotte show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater was amazing also, just like Atlanta.. Only difference was that Easton Corbin came out first and Justin Moore second, they must rotate each night or something..

Sara Evans

Again Sara Evans was amazing and I would really like to see her in concert again soon!!

Rascal Flatts did what they do best, put on an amazing performance.. I swear every new Rascal Flatts show I go too they just get better and better! Their choreographed light shows and backgrounds and all that they have to go with their songs match perfectly and just looked incredible..

Also I was so happy that Jay did his comedy skit again this year, he didnt do one last year and that was disappointing, cause he is incredibly funny!!

Gary and Jay

Also Sara Evans singing Easy with Gary was unreal!! Sara can just flat out sing her butt off!!

Overall both shows were incredible and I would highly suggest them to anybody!! Those two trips were my 5th and 6th times seeing Rascal Flatts in concert, and I hope there will be many more Rascal Flatts shows that I go too!!

If you’ve been to Flatts Fest or any other concerts on Rascal Flatts previous tours, please comment below and tell me what you thought!
